Food & Chef Project by Aleksandr Slyadnev

Photography was not an intuitive path for me to follow. At first, I went to university, graduated in law, tried working in the legal field and at the age of 26 I realized that’s not for me. So I picked up an old analog Zenith camera, and as I was loading the film I had an epiphany — a certainty that I want to spend the rest of my life pursuing this craft. When I just started in photography I mostly photographed portraits of women and female models. Many of my friends were surprised when I switched to photographing food. What can I say, I love women (a lot!), but I am more fascinated with photographing food. I strive to photograph exclusively for restaurants, books and chefs. I've decided to do so simply because I like it. Striving to capture the exceptional beauty and taste of each arrangement.
